A) Journal, kept by Robert Saddington, a passenger on the steam ship "Great Britain" (Captain B. R. Matthews) on a voyage from Liverpool to Sydney, from 4 Aug.-25 Dec. 1853. Gives a detailed account of the journey including descriptions of his fellow cabin passengers and unruly behaviour of some passengers. Also describes living conditions and problems with vermin and insect pests. B) A.L.S., Robert Saddington to his parents, 19 Jan. 1854. C) Newscutting re the ship Great Britain, 30 July 1906. D) 'Australia as I found it' : a talk by Robert Saddington mainly about his impressions of N.S.W. and Victoria, c. 1858.
